As good as the Volcano!!! Paid 1/5 less! Posted by BooleallBrisT on Aug 24th, 2007 To start I wanna thank Vapolution for getting a Booth at Seattle's Hempfest. They supported the cause and more importantly, I would have never bought the vapolution if I hadn't tried it first at your booth (used legal wizards smoke). I'm a previous Volcano owner and my unit (while great) died and the repairs they wanted was stupid. I saw the Vapolution booth & talked with a fellow Medical user about the unit he has. (He also owns a Volcano.) He old me he never uses the Volcano unless their is a large group of people. He explained that the Vapolution worked faster, better, and with a smaller amount of herb. He was so sincere he offered to sell me his Volcano for half of what he paid a year ago. So I got a demo at the booth and loved it. I forked over my cash and ran home to use it. (I could have used it in the car, it comes with a cig lighter attachment!!!) USE: It has been a week and I couldn't be happier! So happy I'm gonna buy another to donate to my dispensary. First off, the Vapolution is much easier to use then the Volcano. You plug it in, crank it up high to heat it fast. When your about ready turn it down to about 11 o'clock on the dial. You stick in the glass with a very small amount of herb in it (more is not needed). Wait 3-5 seconds and start pulling in slowly. Take a nice long hit and relax. It won't hurt, you won't cough, you won't make smoke! Then you pull out the whip & turn the dial to 12 o'clock, wait a minute, inhale heaven. DO this again at 2 o'clock. By this time your herb is probably brown and crispy. It still has worth though! I keep all these "popcorns" in a mason jar for hard times. You can still bong it and get more out. I made a small butter batc to see if it would work with the vaped (used) herb and it still had usable properties in it!!!! I also want to add that the glass on glass heater makes a taste difference for the better! I also notice that when using a higher temp it stays cleaner tasting then the Volcano. The other cool feature is that after you use it a few times you end up with a hash type oil on the inside that when harvested is killer!!!! FEELINGS: Vaporizing is the best method of getting Medicinals into your system and the Vapolution does it wonderfully. If you haven't Vaped before be aware it's not like Bong rips. You stay much clearer, still high but not stoned. You don't get dopey and lethargic. (Stoned= couch lock, High= Spiritual Enlightenment) You are clear & high. You wanna talk, laugh, volunteer, hug, meditate, love. That said when you lay down and take a hit before bed you fall easily asleep and dream vividly. (When I take bong hits I never dream, lost the ability.) I also take Methotrexate, a chemo drug, every week for the last 4 years for Rheumatoid Arthritis. I'm sick about 3-5 days out of 7 every week. My herb has always helped but keeping the nausea away sometimes led me to smoke myself into a blur or a headache. The Vapolution allows me to use much less since I'm not burning away the valuable cannabinols or (CBN). Normal lighters burn the CBNs before they enter your system. Some stoney THC will get in but not the healing, nausea reducing CBNs. Cannabinols also give a great body high and reduce pain and nausea much better then just the psychoactive THC. If you want more stony then just turn up the dial. I have gotten to the point where I like to Vape between 10 o'clock - 1 o'clock (on the dial) as any higher brings out all the THC. I like the THC at night and when I'm relaxing but now I can really control how I feel and when! That said, there is no better way to get stoned out of your gourd. After a an hour of being on the heating element can be turned down a notch or four! I can get good vapes at 9-12 o'clock once heated up for a while. Heat changes only take about 1-2 minutes to make adjustments. CLEANING: At first I wasn't happy with the way herb could fall out into the heating chamber. It took about 2 days to master it so nothing falls out. Even if it does all you do is turn it upside down and blow into the hole. I thought the design simplistic compared to the Volcano's fancy screens, elements, blah blah. After a weeks use the simplistic design is much easier to use. Compare making a fire with a match versus a light saber. Both will make a fire, one is over the top and one is simple. The match book is small and works without problems. The light saber while fancy is bulkier and more complicated must be built by a Jedi etc.... I haven't had any herb fall out and get stuck. If it does directions say wait till it cools then use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. EZ! EXTRAS: One thing that surprised me was the included cigarette lighter adapter. I do smoke in my car, why not Vaporize? At my office during breaks, before a movie or dinner out, long road trips, etc. The Vapolution's outside DOES NOT GET HOT!!! You can touch it anywhere, even the hole where it heats up! I would think that not having an active flame and burning leaf matter is a good thing in a car. Anyone driving next to you would think you're drinking out of a CamelBack water bottle. When your herb is done you can blow it out the window as it won't start any forest fires. I also purchased the battery pack for camping, boating or hikes. I have used it once to test it & it was fine. Seemed like it lasted about 4 hours, 2 more then they said. OVERALL: I LOVE IT!!! The Vapolution works as good as the Volcano. If you ask me the Vapolution's simpler design makes it a better product. Less work to setup, less replacements pieces to lose/break/wear out, no exposed areas to burn your stoned ass, no stupid bags!!!!! When I had my Volcano I still used a bong a majority of the time as the Volc was a pain in the ass. Since buying the Vapolution I have taken it everywhere and haven't had but two bong hits (to see if the vaped herb still had potency). I love the feeling and the fact I can leave it on for 8 hours at a time means it's always ready to roll. I USE MUCH LESS HERB A WEEK! My disease and the side effects of my meds necessitated about an Ounce every 7-10 days. Now I'm using a little over a half OZ every 7 days. Even conservatively thats a reduction of 1/4 if not 1/2. I'm also keeping a mason jar of still usable vaped herb for cooking or smoking later. The warranties look good and fair (opposite of the Volcano) Looking at the parts used in the Vapolution I can see that they are simple and should (under normal circumstances) last for 20 years easy. The only thing I suggest is getting extra glass pieces with your first purchase. I have already stepped on one and broke it (comes with 2). Bottomline: Simple to use and clean. Very proficient and economical. I would much rather use this then any Volcano version. I don't need extra features that will just break and cost more to replace. By making the vapolution so simple the engineers have out designed the Volcano. I'm buying a 2nd next week! |
