Simply put, the Silver Surfer Vaporizer is a work of art. The anodized aluminum body, the hand blown glass, and the high quality heating element emphasize the vaporizer's quality and craftsmanship.
A major improvement from traditional "whip" vaporizer designs is the angle of the heating element. Rather than holding the wand parallel with or toward the ground, it can be held upright at a 45 degree angle. This small enhancement prevents any tobacco or plant material from falling out and is also less awkward to use. The heating element is the best we've seen in a sub $200 vaporizer. The Silver Surfer Vaporizer takes 2-3 minutes to heat up, uses only 60 watts, and has a fully adjustable temperature using a quality rheostat dial. We found it is best to set the temperature to max during the initial startup to get a more constant temperature (just remember to turn it down before use). The heating element design prevents any oxidation so it should last a very, very long time. Each vaporizer includes a custom base color with a hand blown glass temperature dial, heater cover, pick marble, and wand. Fully customized vaporizers are also available as are more elaborate wands and water filters (which happen to also be compatible with the Vapor Brothers, Vapor Cannon, and Hot-Box vaporizers). One minor annoyance we came across was a somewhat uneven "cook" which can result in burning of plant material in the middle of the bowl and under cooking around the perimeter. To help avoid around this problem, users will have to "stir" the bowl every 1 or 2 inhales with the included pick. Perhaps the hot and cold air could be mixed more thoroughly by integrating some sort of diffuser into the glass cover in future designs. Overall, this is a solid choice for the beginner or vaporizer connoisseur and our favorite sub-$200 whip-style vaporizer. Larger photos are available here and here. |

The SilverSurfer offers a very long lasting ceramic heating element which is fully adjustable up to 900 degrees. The SSV was the first vaporizer to offer the all glass and ceramic heater, which the air only comes in contact with the glass and ceramic. The SSV is the only wand style vaporizer to offer the patent pending quick change wand. You can change you screen in 1/10 the time of the competition. Along with the wand having a better design it is made with the thickest possible glass available. Color is incorporated into each wand to make them more unique. The SSV is the only vaporizer which can vaporize and diffuse essential oils at the same time making the SSV the ultimate aromatherapy tool. The design offers the user to have the wand point up rather than down. No herbs fall out when you use the SSV. The SSV offer the best customer service possible and any piece can be replaced for under $30. Every SSV is completely different and unique as every unit has a hand crafted glass temperature knob and colored heater cover. The SSV offers the BEST value when you compare it to the competition. In some cases it is cheaper then some models and in some cases more. Just remember you get what you pay for and do some research before you buy. |
