Great combo vape Posted by vapeguy on Dec 8th, 2006 The herbalAire is a nice alternative to the Volcano-half the price and the added benefit of using it as a whip unit. I've used it nearly every day for several months now as a bag unit. It heats up to 350F in a couple of minutes and has a 3 color LED to indicate the temp. It uses the same bag as the Volcano and it's fairly easy to make your bags. Bag filling takes longer than the Volcano, but the separate pump can be cheaply replaced if it fails or if you want to try a more powerful one. I wouldn't try to pump air through it too fast though. Too much air flow will reduce the vaporizing temperature. A stronger pump will probably require a higher temp setting. I've used 350-360F and easily gotten two bags filled using .1g or less. The second bag will contain significantly less vapor than the first, but it's worth the 2nd bag if you want the most from your herb. I recommend buying the 4 pack of extra crucibles (bowls) for quick refilling (although the removed crucible does cool off quickly). Extras also come in handy if you step on one like I did. herbalAire is also much easier to clean than the Volcano. Just use alcohol on a cotton swab for the heating chamber, bag connectors, and mouthpiece, and pipe cleaners for the mouthpiece extensions. |
